¡Nuevo Álbum, Próximamente!

Coming soon, our new album, Viva la Devolución, a Tejano-inspired hip-hop album with electronic flair.

Listen to a preview of the lead single, “Border Beats”:

Obviously, this is another in my series of fake album covers made from old photos I found in my grandparents’ archive of slides, negatives and other ephemera. This particular photo features my father wandering around an-unnamed town in Mexico sometime in the 1960s. I’m not sure what he’s carrying in his right hand, but the parcel in his left hand is a wood and iron depiction of the Last Supper, somewhat like this one I found randomly on the internet:

I know that’s what he’s carrying because when he was still alive, he used to tell us about having to lug this thing around Mexico (as if it were his cross to bear?) and I can attest that this thing is heavy, as it is currently in storage at my mother’s house and I recently had to move it (unfortunately, I didn’t think to take a photo at the time, but perhaps next time I’m over, I’ll remember and will share).
