I’ll be honest, I’ve never liked Peter Lik. I’ve been to a few of his galleries in Vegas and have always come away feeling like there’s nothing all that special about his photos–they’re just giant, well-processed postcards. But I will give him this, he knows how to market himself.
Peter Lik—overrated, hilariously-named photographer—has sold a photo for $1M

Not sure where you got the information on this sale, because it’s not completely accurate. my buddy from the Waikkiki gallery is the one who sold this image to a person of Asian descent. They flew and met at Lik’s gallery at the Venetian in Vegas and struck the deal for $430k, not one million. Lik, btw, is not American – he is Austrailian. Personally Lik’s works seem very fake to me, I’ve been out in nature for forever!
I got the info from the Peter Lik Gallery blog…that’s a link to their post at the bottom of my article
Hey Lefty. I found this link that says Peter Lik did sell the photo for one million dollars:

What a statement and a true indicator of where this artist is heading. I even heard that he now has a TV show on The Weather Channel.
Thanks for backing me up on that!
